Working Title Films

Compare Disney (conglomerate) and Working Title Films (independent)-

Working Title has a much smaller movie gallery, with just over 100 films, Whereas Disney has made over 139 films, which is a lot more than Working Title

Working Titles productions have grossed over $7.5 Billion on movies world wide, and Disney have produced a much higher gross of $67.41 Billion.

Disney Produces many film series and types, consisting of PIXAR, Marvel, ESPN, Star Wars,20th Century Fox, ABC News, BlueSky Studios and many other popular film franchises.

Working Title films are all independent, they can be series films but they are not part of a huge corporation, many being individual films with no sequels, and a lot of individual series films such as Johnny English, which grossed around $160,000,000 per film (3 films).

Some popular films that Working Title have produced consist of, baby Driver, Hot Fuzz, Johnny English, and many more.

Disney films are more franchised films, for example, Marvel and Pixar create a huge amount of different films with the Pixar film series Toy Story Grossing around 3.3 Billion Dollars globally.

Advantages to independent rather than conglomerate -

Independent companies (Such as Working Title) have more control over what they produce, meaning they can directly act on what they want to change rather than following the actions of a mother corporation that conglomerate corporation companies must do in their productions. This also means that they can choose the direction that their productions take themselves and create whatever they think would be beneficial to them.

Conglomerate Corporations (Such as Disney) have a huge advantage when it comes to the production and creation of media. This means that they are more likely to secure the funding and quality that it takes to produce something that the public enjoy and is more entertaining to watch. Conglomerate corporations are also more likely to gain more funding for a project, as a team consisting of a lot more companies would produce an output which exceeds the quality of many other products of the same time. Conglomerate companies also average a lot more successful productions, with a vast amount of them having sequels due to popular demand, this is where conglomerate industries become the more favorable corporation to the public eye. Most of Disney's large production have made at least $1 Billion dollars for the corporation, as they also make some of the most popular movies every created, For Example - Toy Story and Cars.

However, this doesn't mean that independent companies do not produce popular films with sequels engaging public interest, for example, the Johnny English series grossed around $480 million, which is a huge profit for Working Title, another example is Baby Driver, which has a budget of around $34 Million, and in total it grossed over $220 Million worldwide, which was a huge success for the company.

In Conclusion, Conglomerate Corporations are certainly the most successful and impressive corporations with the free access to what they have from the companies inside them, but independent companies produce more freely, and can put more thought and effort into one single film, as well as their film library being much more diverse.
